Will physical therapy make me sore?
Physical therapy unlocks, stretches, and strengthens bodily structures that may have been tight for a long time, such as joints, muscles, tendons, and ligaments. It is normal to feel some soreness during your session as these structures start to move. On a pain scale of 1 to 10, the goal is a pain level of about 6, which should dissipate quickly when you stop the exercise.
If you feel significant soreness between sessions, or if you feel intense pain during an exercise, let us know right away. We can adjust your treatment plan to match your body’s needs.
